South Coast Health Hub is a leading allied health provider across the Illawarra and South Coast of NSW. We provide Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology services, with a strong emphasis on quality and professionalism, leading the industry in evidence-based management, whilst remaining innovative and dedicated to excellence. South Coast Health Hub was established to challenge the norms on how health services are provided, by allowing greater autonomy for the patient and empowering them to make positive change and challenge their own well-being beliefs.
Our team prides themselves on being the best in their own fields – with ‘The Hub’ allowing collaborative engagement and partnerships in providing an outstanding patient experience, and overall outcome.
Meet The Team
Mick Baines
Physiotherapist
Meet Mick
Although we feel that Mick needs no introduction, for those who aren’t sure of what Mick offers to your patients, we have attempted to summarise a 20+ year career in a paragraph.
Mick has a special interest in complex multifactorial presentations, that include (but are certainly not limited to);
- Rheumatological and autoimmune presentations with a focus on education and evidence-based management involving collaboration with exercise prescription and pain science.
- Persistent pain presentations
- Juvenile injuries, ensuring families are treated with respect and compassion to ensure a calm understanding of pathology and prognosis.
- Industry and Compensable patients that require 2nd (or 3rd) opinions
Having worked with some of Australia’s leading athletes over the past 2 decades, both male and female – youth and adults – Mick is excited to provide the region with an option to access extended consultations as a service that fulfils his professional ambition.
Mick’s goal is to ensure everyone in our community can access the same level of care as that provided (demanded) to the professional sporting world. The goal of the South Coast Health Hub is to provide comprehensive care that focuses on empowerment through education.
Utilising the extensive network of Mick’s contacts ensures immediate access to resources and specialist’s where needed – so that a relevant and personalised patient centred consultation is provided that often results in less consultations and more specific intervention.
